Fishin' with Pa aka Drowning Worms

Thursday was the big day...the day that he had been told would come...the day he had told people about...FISHING WITH PA!.  Finally we were able to go fishing.  We went to a little lake called Lake Capote .  It was threatening to rain that day so we headed out early.  Gran and Pa went first and set up.  They had Christian's Scooby Doo rod and reel all ready to go when we arrived.  Being the pack-rats that we are, we brought our cooler, snacks, the bumbo, the bumbo tray, the stroller, the folding chairs (all 3), the diaper bag and the camera bag.

Pa helped him bait his hook and cast his first line. Christian reeled it in like a pro. Then another one of us would cast his line and he would reel that in. He wasn't much up on the idea of little the worm sit around for long. He liked the reeling part too much.

But the thing I think he liked more about fishing was....

THE WORMS!!!!!
He loved holding them and playing with them.  After he touched them, fishing was a distant memory.  The rain didn't stay away for long and we had to leave before we got too wet.

This might be my favorite picture of him and the worms!

Lake Capote is across the highway from Chimney Rock.
