Bob and Larry

We had a really exciting day today. Christian met BOB AND LARRY from the Veggie Tales Series .

Christian is a big fan of Veggie Tales and the Veggie Tales super hero Larry Boy. The Lifeway Store was having a grand opening special and Bob and Larry were their special guests today. Gran and Pa helped me take Christian to meet Bob and Larry. They were big helps because we needed someone to take our pictures with Bob and Larry.

Christian was decked out in his Larry-Boy T-shirt and his Larry-Boy ball cap. He was ready! He saw Bob and Larry and immediately starting telling them HI! We waiting our turn and took lots of pictures with Bob and Larry. They were very nice and gave use lots of attention. They gave Christian lots of hi-5's too.

Christian's face shined with pure happiness at meeting Bob and Larry. It was beyond CUTE!!!!

Memorial Day fun

I don't think we could have fit more into out Memorial Day weekend.
I think Memaw and DoDaddy had us beat for the busiest week though. They had gotten home from a 2 week Alaskan Cruise (so lucky and it looked beautiful), then they made it out to the Houston Symphony on Friday night, a quick breakfast with Christian and us, then off to Wichita Falls to visit family there. On their way home they stopped in Huntsville to see Abby and Emmy and the Huntsville crew.

Our primary reason for going to Kingwood was the Raphael's baptism. This meant fun times at the Goerlitz house. There were 2 pinata's, fishing for presents, musical chairs, snow cones, BBQ and play time in Mark's man-cave (bar/karaoke lounge in the converted garage) .
Here is a slideshow from Raphael's baptism party.

Christian and I took a break from the party to have dinner with our friend's Cinda and Nanny. Mommy doesn't have pictures of this visit because she was busy containing the sugar fueled 2 year old in the TGI Friday's booth.

Then on Sunday it was fun at the Kingwood Water park with the family. The Choate Cousins came to Kingwood and we all explored the new Kingwood Water Park. Abby is becoming quite the good swimmer with great instructions from Mom and Dad. Everyone enjoyed the Splash Pad, little pool and the lazy river. 3 hours in the water flew by but we did notice how hungry we were getting. So it was off to Pei Wei and then we finished up with ice cream at Cold Stone...yummy.

Monday we headed home but made a pit stop at Auntie Tal's to see her and Chris' horsies. Daddy and Christian got in some more swimming time and we all visit with the horsies.

Even more on the name game ***UPDATED*****

A good friend sent me this link for searching baby names. It is a fun site and give you names that may flow well with the name you have selected in helping you pick a middle name, or it could help you in picking a siblings name.

There is also a blog for this site too. It had some interesting trendspotting posts recently (hint, hint Aunt Sassy).

Here are some recent guesses

Marcus Jonathon
Brutus
William Farrell (to be called Will Farrell, thanks Uncle Jack)
Maher Shalal Hash-Baz
Micha
Camerino Jacob
Adreayan Chris
Luegy Chistofer
Oliver

Happy guessing. I will come up with a special prize for the one person that does figure out BW#2's name before he gets here.

More on the name game

I have to admit, certain people are making this keeping the name a secret thing really fun.

The number one person is Aunt Sassy. She is very determined to guess before he is born. She made several good guesses yesteday and several bad ones. I got not one, not two, but like 5 calls yesterday either asking me to clarify the hints or present her guesses.

Keep up the good work Aunt Sassy..keep it up.

Name game

I thought I would throw out a few hints to the name of the new baby. But since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a similar due date and have 2 babies to name, I will be keeping Baby Wenck #2 name secret until he gets here. (YES, I have a completely irrational fear that Brad and Angelina will use my baby's name and we will have to start over in picking one out.)

Here are the hints.
#1) The first and middle names of BW#2 have the same number of letters that are in Christian James ~ 14 (did you see that Tallie...the #14...pretty cool huh?!?!).

#2) The first name is of Latin origin.

#3) The middle name is of Hebrew origin.

#4) It can be found in baby name books. Unlike my favorite girl name, Waverly, which I could never find in those baby name books.

Visit to Dallas

While Mommie and Daddy were in class all day, Christian was playing with Aunt Sheri. Today they went to the Dallas Zoo and saw lots of animals.

Mommie also got some very good news today. She officially does not have gestational diabetes!!! Yippie!!!!!

"Read book Daddy?!?!"

That was the request from Christian this morning. Surprisingly we all got up early so there was less rushing around to get things done. That left plenty of time for a good book. A Lightin' McQueen (aka CARS) book was selected for the morning reading session....surprise, surprise.

It was such a cute scene, I couldn't resist snapping a picture before I walked out the door to go to work.

Finished Floors

Our floors are in and they look great. We are getting used to the new sleek floors and the house is almost back in order. Many thanks to Gran and Pa for entertaining Christian over the weekend while Mommie and Daddy put in hard work getting everything back in place. I even painted the office nook that really needed a fresh coat. We also went on a little shopping spree to get new rugs. The got a DEAL on the large rug for the living room from Lowe's.

Here are the official Before pics:

Mother's day flowers

Christian gave me a bouquet of flowers today for Mother's Day when I dropped him off at daycare. They are so beautiful! And I get to enjoy them in my office. These kind of flower don't wilt, so I will have them looking fresh and beautiful for a long time!

More on the floors ***UPDATED****

Well progress was made on the floors last night. Our hope is that they will be done so we can stay at home again. (Update: we have another night in a hotel. They missed demoing the tile in the entry way so that will delay them another 1/2 day. Things look good for being done on Friday. We were originally told they would be done on Thursday, so Friday really isn't so bad. That is unless you have been trying to sleep on a HARD hotel mattress being 6 months pregnant and trying to put a 2 year old to bed in a hotel room, with little success.)

Here is the whole slide show of the pictures for the floors and the rugs I have looked at so far. My favorite rug is the one that looks like a patchwork pattern.

The whole family is feeling the effects of not being in our own house, in our own beds. We are all a little cranky, and the 2 year old isn't the worst one sometimes.

We had several little weird things happen to us yesterday and we just had to laugh. Chris and I both headed to the house for different reason at lunch yesterday. While on the way home, the Le Sabre started overheating....fun! Good thing I was headed home too. So it is sitting in the front of the house waiting for a tow. Guess we will be carpooling the next few days.

We also noticed the floor crew hadn't demo's the entry way tile....hmmm wondering if they remembered that part. hope so!

Then we head to Culver's to grab some lunch before we ran to Lowe's to get some paint ordered. We accidently got someone else's orders...OOPS. Again we just have to laugh. Hope the teenage girls in front of us liked our burgers. We enjoyed theirs.

Then we headed to Lowe's. I ordered paint for the office/hallway area that I will be painting on Friday night and Chris ordered trim paint for the floor crew. That went well. Surprisingly I ended up only taking 1 hour for lunch.

After carpooling home and getting to see the first room with the laminte in it, we headed to dinner and then to the park to let Christian run around. Aunt Sassy met us at the park and chased Christian around. It let Mommy and Daddy have a few mintues to just sit down and rest a little. Aunt Sassy doesn't know how much we needed that.

Christian rewarded Aunt Sassy for her efforts with a sweet kiss, that luckily I captured on film.

We rewarded Christian with a visit to Starbucks were he got his very own shaken green ice tea with syrup (just like Mommie orders). I think it took him about 3 mintues to drink this down. He was busy on the park and needed a little post-park refreshment.

I can't express what a little trooper he has been through all this. He is a little confused when we stop by the house to check on the animals and we don't stay.

Hopefully tonight we can all sleep in our own beds and get a good nights sleep and the crankiness will go away.

Our Little Trooper

Here is our little trooper taking a breathing treatment in the hotel room. He is such an adaptable kid, well except when he misses a nap.

Here is a brief floors update (just for you Mother!).
They were a 1/2 day behind getting started so they aren't planning to be done until later on Thursday and finish work on Friday.
I took these pictures at lunch today (Wednesday) showing where they are. They are leveling the floor here but you can see our living room is EMPTY!

We are all getting a little tired of the hotel life, but as you can see, the house isn't really livable for us right now. But the project is moving forward and we are happy about that. Also, daycare will hopefully benefit from some carpet pieces that we will save from the job.

Marked Up

The Dove room comes with many more crafts than previous rooms. As you can see Christian really gets into craft time. He comes home painted up with markers and paint all the time these days. Looks like he has fun!

Post #100 and Major Changes in the Wenck World

First major milestone....This will be post 100.

Second major milestone...we are getting new floors!!!!!!!

That is the major change in the Wenck World. We are getting new laminate and tile floors. The tile floors are in process of being complete as I type and here is proof. Chris is at home today and I made him send me a picture from his cell phone.

The only area of the house getting new tile is the boys bathroom (guest bathroom) pictured to the right and below.

The laminate floors get installed tomorrow. I am giddy with excitement. We were aren't as brave as the Choates and so we hired a custom flooring company to come in and do everything. We are very happy with the way things have been handled so far. I will right a complete review of them once the whole job is completed.

Larry Boy

Larry Boy from the Veggie Tales series is very popular in our house these days.

I found these Larry Boy items (hat and shirt) online and had to buy them.

These pictures also show how grown up our little guy is looking.

He also enjoyed the flyers that came with the shirt and hat. He is shopping for his next Larry Boy Video I'm sure.
