"Well that was easy"

Today we had a sonogram of Baby Wenck #2 (BW). Just another routine test was done but we got to see BW and BW is looking great. BW is measuring right on time and moving around like crazy. BW was sleeping a little of the time too and didn't always want to be in a position where the Dr. could measure what he was trying to measure. This required the Dr. to wake BW from some nap time and push around on my belly a little more than was normally comfortable.

This routine screening also included a blood test. So I after the sonogram I had to give a little blood, just a poke on the finger, but a cute snoopy band aid was necessary.

Chris went with me to this sonogram and as we were walking out of the Dr. office he said "Well, that was easy". As I looked at my bandaid covered finger and with the pushing my belly had taken still fresh in my memory...I had to take exception with his remark.

I pointed my bandaid covered finger closer to his glasses and said "that was easy?!?"...and then I asked if he needed to go to the bathroom and preceeded to try and push on his belly a little. He laughed and agreed that maybe it wasn't as easy for me as it was for him.

Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!
Christian had a wonderful birthday party and had a great time with lots of his friends and family. The video below shows how much he enjoyed everyone singing Happy Birthday to him. It was priceless.

I can safely say that Christian loves all the presents he received. Seriously, that isn't an exageration. He has played with everything.

Another hit of the party was the Lightin' Mc Queen pinata. It was s"magic string" pinata. With this kind of pinata, the kids don't have to beat Lightin' to get the toys and candy, they just pull strings and then the "magic string" opens a piece underneath Lightin' and all the toys and candy fall out. (And I think Aunt Debbie has a little crush on Lightin' too.) It was great for Christian and all his friends.

Last night after Christian went to sleep his Daddy spent a good hour putting together his new train set. I like to call it "the choo choo train that ate the living room". Christian woke up in what I would call Toddler heaven. The living room was filled with toys from his birthday and his new train set all put together. By 6 o'clock this evening "the choo choo train that ate the living room" had been destroyed by "the Toddler that turned 2". I think Daddy was a little more hurt by the destruction than the toddler was. Oh well. Another train will be built on another day. Bigger, better and stronger.

Anniversaries

Anniversaries are funny things. We can have good anniversaries or bad anniversaries. I have one anniversary that makes me understand God's plan for my life. That anniversary is February 4th. The Date has 2 anniversaries for me.

The first is February 4, 1994. That is the day of my Dad's death. A hard day to deal with for many, many years. This was the day my Daddy Daddy died. I still miss him dearly and think often about how he would love today's world. He would love email and the internet. He would have a huge TV mounted on the wall. He would adore his grandson. I think he would love this blog and comment on it often. He would have funny stories to tell. Christian might even be calling me "Mommie Leroi"...who knows.

The second is February 4, 2002. That is the day I first met Chris. We consider this our anniversary, even though our first date wasn't for 2 more weeks and we didn't become "a couple" for many more months...this date holds very special meaning for us. It was the day God gave me another start. The next man to play a major role in my life. The man that would become my husband and the father of my children. He loves me and my crazy family just like his own. He is the Master of our family Budget and gives home improvement a good college try. He plays dump truck race with his son any time he is asked.....first thing in the morning, first thing after he walks in the door at night. He is always quick to play choo-choo train or make me a decaf, non-fat, caramel latter. He loves our little family and loves the little one to come.

So thank you God for blessing me with these men.

P.S. ~ Christian's original due date was February 4th, 2006.... Now does God have a great sense of humor or what!

My how times flies

Here is our little man......at 1 day, 1 year and now 2 years. He is getting to be such a big boy. His new favorite phrases are "Bye, bye, see ya in the mornin'", "chicken?" this is when he wants to eat some chicken nuggets, "Hi Mommy/Daddy! What's up?"

He still enjoys dumptruck races and he really loves playing with his choo-choo train. He has great sound effects for it too.

Something to strive for

This little guy is too cute. I think Christian and I will start practicing Brad Paisley songs on our way home now.

Superbowl

Since Dallas is out of the running, Christian thought it was safe to announce his pick for the Superbowl....cheesehead and all. His pick has nothing to do with the cool outfit that Pa and Gran bought him while on their vacation this summer either (he he).

New furniture

Christian has some "new" furniture. Abby Ann is going to the proud new owner of the furniture that was in our guest room. This meant Christian needed new furniture for his Big Boy room. We all went out shopping this weekend and found a great set at a consignment store. Of course we found this set at the first place we went, but had to go to 6 more stores just to make sure there wasn't a better deal to be found. There wasn't This set is perfect for a boy.

It is 5 pieces ~ A twin trundle bed, 1 high-boy dresser, 1 dresser with mirror, 1 corner bookshelf and 1 night stand. All Canadian maple with navy blue accents. Very nice and in good shape.

I am so happy that Abby will be getting my old bedroom set. It is perfect for a little girl. We are thrilled we found a set that will be great for our little boy.

Daddy update 1/10/2008

Here is Chris' Daddy update for today. Sounds like someone was a little grumpy this morning. Hmmm wonder what these will be like when there are two to drop off.

Christian wasn't ready to go to school and was scrambling around the living room. So, I headed out tot he car by myself and opened the car door. Then he just appeared out of nowhere with trucks in hand. After I placed him in his car seat he held up an empty bowl and said. "All Done"... So, I gave him an apple munch on for the ride. And it was crunch crunch crunch the whole way. When we got to school he tossed what was left of the apple on the floor, but kept his truck close by. I quickly noticed this was an attempt to violoate the rule of taking toys to daycare. I placed the truck on the floor board for him and he started to argue.. "TRUUUCKKK". I shut the door and started to walk to class. He eventually followed with his hands in the air and grumbling something about his truck. So, I said "Ready, Set, .." and he said "Go.. Run" and we ran to class.

Daddy drop off update 1/7/2008

We had a wonderful weekend visit with family in Huntsville this weekend and I promise there will be more stories to come on that soon. In the mean time here are pictures from this weekend.

However, we learned that the Daddy drop off updates that Chris sends me some mornings are a hit. So here is today's Daddy drop off update.

Christian took his usual toys to the car for the ride to school (Trucks and Cars). When we arrived at school he promptly threw them on the floor board of the car because he knows that toys are not allowed to be brought into school. I took him to see Vickie and she stated that she had not heard of anyone moving up yet, but she would take him and find out later this morning. He was coughing a lot so I told her to give him a treatment if he kept coughing this morning. He was not happy when I told him good bye, but while crying he stated he wanted to play with blocks. He also immediately said hello to Cimarron.

Love,
Chris

We have more big news on the daycare front. Christian is moving up to a new room soon. He will be joining many of his old friends in the Dove room (2-3 year olds).

Part of his new schedule includes Bible time where they have a bible story and sing a Chapel song.
