CRAZY HAT DAY!

Today is CRAZY HAT DAY!!! We were supposed to make a CRAZY hat together, but Christian didn't want to make a hat, he wanted to wear his Indian hat. Everyone in his class was supposed to make a hat, then today they are doing to parade around the other classes and show off their hats. He was practicing his parade march here. He woke up says "Today is hat day!" I think he was excited about it.

I'm not sure why but he suddenly looks so grown up to me in this picture.

The Lion on his back is a hand me down from the Harrell boys that he has recent taken a new interest in. It contains many of his super heroes that he said he needed to take to school today to share with his friends.

Sunday wrap up

Sunday everyone headed to Church. Gran & Pa came to town to join us for Church and a Father's Day lunch.



In children's church we made "ties" for Daddy. Here is Riley showing off her tie for her Daddy.

After church a BIG group of us headed over to one of our favorite places for a Father's day cajun feast at Cypress Grill. Benny Jr., JJ, Sara, Andi and baby Addison joined the rest of our gang. Sorry I didn't get a picture of that one.

After everyone headed their separate ways, the Wencks all took naps...gotta love a weekend with so many naps.

Then we got some old favorite toys out of the attic because some one is becoming a cruising kid.

Express baseball

Saturday we got up and got ready to head to the hotel to play in the pool. Just about the time we are ready to leave, Archer gets sleepy. He and I stayed back to nap while Christian and Chris went to play in the pool with Abby and Emmy.

After swimming the whole gang headed to Hula Hut for lunch. It was hopping.



After some really good food and taking a peek at the boats on the lake, we all headed back for some much needed naps. Archer's 2nd of the day, Christian's 1st.

Then it was off to the highlight of the weekend. A Round Rock Express Game. Debbie had a great idea for us all to go to a game months ago and bought our tickets early. She is officially in charge of all ticket purchases from now on because our seats were AWESOME! Just behind home plate and under the cover of shade...can't get any better.

The game was score less into the 9th and I still don't know how won yet, I gotta look that us soon ; )

If you are asking yourself about now, "Where's Archer?" Well we got him a sitter. The ballpark probably wasn't his favorite place to be for so long, after his normal bed time. I'm sure we will make many more trips that he will be along for.

After heading south we made a stop at Amy's ice cream...because you just have to have some good ice cream to top off such a great night.

Big Weekend

It was such a fun filled weekend I don't think I can tackle it with just one post.  I will have to break it up day by day. 

Friday Christian was a busy guy.  First thing out of the chute, his class hosted "Donuts with Daddy". 

He was supposed to give his Daddy a secret present he had made at school, but jumped the gun the day before and gave it to him early.

Here is Archer is his class, you can see Christian is making himself at home in his old room.

Then later that morning Gran & Pa picked up both boys for breakfast at Pa's favorite place. Then it was off for a train ride in Zilker Park with Bailey and Riley.

I came by to get him in the early afternoon because we had a swim date with a friend from school. Then it was home for Pizza with the Choate cousins, Grama Ann, Uncle Jack, Aunt Debbie, Memaw and DoDaddy.

304 days ago....

Or 10 months ago...This little guy made his grand entrance into the Wenck World.

And my have we had fun.

He is still army crawling, but getting faster all the time.
He is a great eater and will try anything.
He is pulling up, like pulling up on the window sill to watch his Dad and brother playing outside.
He is starting to make more words, or things that sound a lot like words, his favorite being "yeah". The Daycare ladies loves this and ask him all kinds of fun questions that he answer "yeah" to. He has also started saying "ba" for words like ball and bye.
He is starting to wave bye.
He is usually very happy when he walks up.
He never stays still on his changing table.
He loves when his big brother splashes him in the bath tub or in a swimming pool.
He giggles uncontrolably when his Sassy feds him dinner.
He gets his feeling hurt when you take away things he probably shouldn't be playing with.

Mom said...Dad said and I WANT MY DADDY

Christian has a new go to line in his bag of tricks. The sentence usually starts Mom said.... or Dad said....and then is followed by whatever he wants to at the time. An example. I am getting him ready for bed and he says "Dad said I could watch Batman." When his Dad is sitting right in the other room and said no such thing. Or when Dad is getting him ready to come in from playing outside and he said "Mom said 5 more minutes" When again, I am standing right there and I said no such thing. Then Friday night he threw in a "Gran said" just for good measure.

This morning Christian and Mom had a difference of opinion (to put it nicely) and what should be done with some particular toys in the bathroom. Let's just say this lead to being quite upset with me. Then he demanded to be giving a sticker for something he has done. I ask him if his behavior has earned a sticker. He says no and I agree. So I lead him into the living room. His fit is at about a level 10 now. I put him on the sofa and I put his shoes on him (he is still crying at this point). I ask him if he is upset with me... he nods yes. I ask if it is because I wouldn't give him a sticker...again he nods yes. I ask him is he is upset about anything else (trying to get him to actually tell me what he is upset about) and that is when he says "I WANT MY DADDY." I hugged him, but I had to laugh a little too.

Cameraless weekend

I'm starting to feel naked without a working camera. Not that they are really broken, I just need to make sure they have memory cards in them when I take them out. I also need to make sure the batteries are charged up. OH well.

Our weekend started off really fun. We had a swim play date with Cissy (aka Cinda), Lilyana (5) and Jon David (almost 3). We went over to Cissy's pool Saturday morning. We played in the water and then ate lunch with Nanny (aka Darlene), Tallie, Cissy, Lilyana and Jon David. Christian and Jon David bonded over playing with toys from Cissy's toy closet.

After that we head home and everyone took a long nap. When we woke up Chris noticed he didnt' feel so good. He was running a fever and hasn't stopped running that fever for several days. We think he has some wacky virus, but he has seen a Dr.

Sunday I was brave and took both Archer and Christian to church by myself. Then we headed to a birthday lunch for Gran. Again I was bummed about my camera situation. Sassy, Jonathan, Pa, Gran and Shane all came for lunch. When it was time to head home Sassy and Jonathan hung out with the boys for a few minutes while I ran into the store to get sickie supplies for Chris....saltines, soup, 7-up and juice.

Monday and Tuesday have been a juggling act for me with my parenting partner being out of commission. I hope he gets to feeling better soon.

Before.....After

We are taking more steps to organize our garage. We have a great house...we love our house, but we have lots of stuff and not a lot of place to put that stuff. We have to make use of every square inch. The more organized those square inches, the better.

We bought a chest freezer so we can stock up of frozen goods, meats, frozen dinners, ice cream, maybe nuggets if we ever find Christian favorite brand again. So to make room for that we knew we had to invest in heavy duty shelf...and boy did Chris get a heavy duty shelf.

 
 
 

So here is the almost finished product. We still have a little more organizing to do, but we came a long way in one evening.
