The Graduate

We received these proofs today.

I don't know about you, but I just wanna eat him up.  These are so stinkin' cute!!!!!

I smile with a tear in my eye when I see them.  My baby will no longer be at ALLCC.  He is "graduating" to big boy school. Where did the time go?

PS - not to mention I think he is so adorable when he poses I want to run out to a kiddie modeling agency right now and cash in on my little ham!

Spring Soccer

We played our last soccer game this weekend.
We have all really enjoyed the soccer season.
I don't think we could have picked a better team to play on this year.  We had a great set of boys and amazing coaches.

He is a little field dance I guess

Ben was doing pushup while waiting to go back in.
This one looks like Landon and Christian were just finishing up a chest bump. (not sure they were, but looks like it)

Christian and Landon even scored some goals together in our last game.  (I say our last game because there are two more games, but we won't be there for the last two.  Hope the sharks play great!)

Here is Coach Kevin, Christian and Coach Ben.  We have to thank them for their great coaching this season.  They have great amounts of patience (both with the boys and the parents).  They did wonderful jobs of teaching soccer skills and teamwork.  They were always encouraging the boys and praising them.
Here is Coach Kevin and his son Ethan.
Here are the Sharks (minus Jackson.  Hope we can get another team photo and photoshop Christian in)

My movie maker

Our new computer, the awesome iMac has a photo booth movie making feature.  Christian has loved played with it.  Now instead of just asking to play games on the new computer, he asks to make movies too.

This movie is set in Paris as you will see.

"Let's go fly a kite.."

We had our first kite flying adventure this windy weekend.  We walked with the boys to an open area on the greenbelt by our house.  Then we brought out our Groovy Girl kite.  I bought this kite many many years ago for Abigail and we just never used it.  It has been sitting in Christian's room ever since.

Chris and I also decided on this little walking adventure on the greenbelt that we need to take the boys out walking more.  They both whined all the way back.."I'm so sweaty" "I'm hungry", "I wanna go home", " I'm tired"...and on and on.  So we need to toughen these boys up if we ever want to do some real hiking in Colorado.

Mini-mes

You know Mini-Me right?  Austin Powers tried to clone himself and the clone came out, well mini.
In our family the Wenck boys are mini-mes to there 2nd cousins, the Sellstrom boys, Shane and Cameron.

There are lots of comparisons made between the two sets of brothers.
Christian is a little Shane.  Oldest child.  rule follower. determined ways.  smart.
Archer is a little Cameron.  Has a love of cowboy boots. likes to suck his thumb (Archer now, Cameron back then..not now). the drive that comes from a younger brother keeping pace with his older brother. smart!  I mention smart for both because they are.  Both graduated with honors (Shane did, Cameron will this Spring).  Both never met a challenge they couldn't arise to.

So like I have said before.  If my boys follow in the foot steps of their cousins, I will be a proud Momma....just like theirs.

Alpine Spring 2011

We headed west with the young men and went to Alpine, Texas to watch the Sul Ross Lobos sweep the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs in baseball.  We know the Lobo's catcher...he is our cool cousin Cameron.

Alpine is a sweet little town in the middle of west Texas.  I can see the appeal.  The weather was beautiful everyday and perfect baseball weather.

It doesn't hurt that the field where the Lobos baseball is a great park.   There is a long storied history to Kokernot field.

We weren't the only ones to visit Cameron in Alpine this weekend.
Gran and Pa made the trip.
Along with Sandra and his Grama Madge
The Lewis family came to visit from Fort Stockton.  They used to attend church with us at South Austin Church of the Nazarene.  It was fun seeing them.  Emma and Issac are studing baseball and softball.
Issac received a signed ball for his very own
Several of our crew went to MARGA (aka Marfa...ask Shannon about MARGA next time you see her) for pizza.  It was so good.  The veggie pizza was by far the best.  The pizza place is called Pizza Foundation.  I highly recommend it if you find yourself out that way.
We did a little touring around town.  One stop was the Museum of the Big Bend.

 This was a cool brand.
A few brave souls ventured out to see the mystery Marfa lights.  I saw them...I believe.

The highlight of the weekend by far was the fun times with family and friends watching some great baseball.
