A 2nd graders thoughts on Cupid
Valentine Funnies
This was a class assignment for Christian this week. The cartoon frames were already there he just added the text. I think he had some inspiration from the Simpson's on this.
Cupid "Time to make people fall in love"
"What the!!"
"Why you little?!?!" (this is the Simpson's influence)
" Ow OW Ow Ow" (I'm guessing this is crying)
"Hee, looks like I've got a girl friend"
During his class party he also said "Cupid is my worst enemy because he bring me chocolate then makes my stomach hurt."
Oh boys on Valentines day.

"Everything is awesome" - LEGO movie review
This weekend the LEGO movie took in over $69 million dollars. According to report that is the 2nd highest February weekend box office next to The Passion of the Christ. We tried to get tickets of the long weekend (long weekend due to a bad weather day that really had no bad weather) but almost every show was sold out. We attended a birthday party on Saturday afternoon and many people at the party had already seen it. This movie was a HUGE draw for the 5-8 year old boy set that we run in.
Here is the trailer
And here is the song from the movie that will get stuck in your head.
This movie was a PERFECT movie for my family. PERECT! We all really enjoyed the movie. It was great for the kids and had plenty of laughs for the grown ups. Especially grown ups that live with LEGO now or did as a kid. And leave it to Alamo Drafthouse (the coolest movie theatre around) so show only LEGO related previews before the movie so I know where the name LEGO comes from. It really is a cool story.
I once hated LEGOs. I didn't get them. I didn't play with them as a kid. I was a Barbie Girl thank you very much. Of course now they have LEGOs for girls that my nieces love. In the last year I have grown to appreciate LEGOs. I helped Archer build 4 different sets over Christmas.
I'm an instructions follower though, not a master builder. What is a master builder you ask? A master builder can see the potential of other creative creations in the parts of every LEGO set. Chris is a master builder. I would get frustrated when the boys would complete a LEGO set, just to have it fall about while they played with it and have all those parts mixed up with other parts. According to Chris, that is the beauty of LEGOs. You use the pieces to make other cool things.
I'll stop here as I don't give any movie spoilers away, because there is a cool twist to this movie.
So my final review of the LEGO movie is that it is AWESOME ("Everything is Awesome. Everything is cool when you're part of a team"....see it just gets stuck in your head!)

Heard around our house
Here are just a few things heard around our house in the last week...
#1
C-"I really wish you wouldn't yell"
Me-"I really wish you would do things the first 5 times I ask you"
***********************************************************
#2
Archer-"Christian, you are always the BOSS!"
Me (look at Christian with 'you-know-he-is-right-eyes') - Christian kind of growls in acknowledgement
Me - "Archer maybe you can be boss for awhile"
Archer - "No, I just said that. I don't want to be the boss."
Me - "Why not?"
Archer - "Because Bosses make rules and rules are NO FUN"
************************************************************
#3
Me - "Christian, today is the 100th day of school so why don't you write down ten problems that add up to a 100.. Just don't use 0 or 5 in your last number"
C- "But that just makes it harder!?!?!?"
Me-"I know, that's the point!"
************************************************************
#4
"OnStar assistance for the shopping impaired. How can I help you?" (how I answer the phone when my husband calls while out grocery shopping)
Just a few of the in's and out's in our little Wenck World
