More fun in San Antonio

In San Antonio, we were lucky enough to stay across the street from the Alamo.

But right after this Christian was pushing the straw into Archer's mouth so far, Archer started crying.

Christian got a hold of my camera for this next series.


While we were in San Antonio for the family reunion, Christian and I were able to get in a little river ride.
Archer wasn't feel so good and Chris has been sick earlier in the week, so they rested in the hotel room. 




Early Sunday morning we all walked to Denny's for breakfast. The only people on the streets of San Antonio that early are other people pushing strollers.

Christian just HAD to have me take a picture of the "boney guys" in the jeep. Luckily we were there before they opened of I think we would have had to go in.

Sunday afternoon Memaw and Dodaddy arrived and we all enjoyed a wonderful brunch at our favorite restaurant on the Riverwalk.

Pankey Family Reunion

This weekend was the Pankey Family reunion. Pankey is my Grama Juanita's family. We had a great time in San Antonio and there was a great turn out. Family from all over came. I made a video with this Brad Paisley song recently for Stacy and Jonathan and their upcoming wedding....a lot can happen because two people fell in love.

Same thing goes for a family reunion. You can tell by the group photo we had a big bunch of people...well that is all because two people, Ollie Pankey and Nettie Leonard fell in love.

Plano playdate 2010

Our friends Mark and Jennifer were visiting Plano this summer so we went up for a playdate. Jennifer is a friend of mine from college and Mark is just 2 months older than Christian. When we go to Plano for our visits we get a visit in with Aunt Sheri, Uncle Jud, Shadow and Spur too.

Archer was less than the perfect roadtrip companion on the way up.

He spit chocolate milk everywhere, kicked the back of my seat the entire ride up and demanded "watch Dora" the whole time too. We don't have any Dora videos, so he was very upset..hench the kicking and spitting.

We spent part of our time on Saturday at a very cool water playscape in Plano.

After lunch and a nap, we headed to Mark's Nana's house for more playing.
Mark put on a little performance for us. His Nana's fireplace makes a perfect stage.


Mark and Jennifer are hopefully coming again to Plano in the fall.

Swim lessons 2010

Christian has taken two rounds of swim lessons this summer.  He is going great and we are very proud of his progress.

This is his favorite thing, jumping in to his teacher. But this time he didn't listen to his teacher and jumped on the count of 1, instead of 3 like he was supposed to. We are working on our listening.

A little blast from the past

Independence Day 2010

I have been following this blog recently called the Happiness Project.  The writer recently posted something on family traditions.  We have a few and one of our favorites is our neighborhood Independence Day Parade.  This year it almost snuck up on us...it has been a little crazy around our house with the boys being sick and Pa being in the hospital.  But everyone is doing so much better these days and there was cause to celebrate, everyone living health and free in the USA.

First we had to get some decorations. These were supposed to be handpainted fireworks for the wagon.


Oh yes, it got messy.


Archer didn't quite understand where the camera was.

There was a bug guy that brought up a bunch of bugs and snakes for the kids to look at. Then Chris found a snake hanging out in our backyard. He tried to hide under the outside toys, but Chris got him.

There were two fire trucks and one with a HUGE ladder.



This year's parade and party at the park was one of the best in the last 4 years we have been going.
