Swim Lessons

Due to Congress passing the social security tax cut extension, the Wenck family was able to join the YMCA. (you might laugh, but that is a totally true statement).

Anyway, we signed the boys of for swim lessons.  This is Archer's first round of swim lessons without Mom or Dad being in the pool too.  To say he loves swim lesson is a HUGE understatement!  HE LOVES LOVES LOVES them.  He is wearing a smile the entire 40 mins.

The other great thing about these particular round of lessons is that both boys are in lessons at the same time.  The thing I like is that I can squeeze in a 30 mins workout while the boys are in lessons.

The cherry on top of the YMCA sundae is that our buddy Landon and his family joined the Y too.  That means the mommies get to join each other for workouts while the boys get to play and take swim classes and do lots of fun stuff together....win-win-win!  We had a meet up night two weeks ago.  Corrie and I jumped in on a mat Pilate class while the boys played.   The boys had a super great time and I was pretty sore.

Christian has taken two rounds of swim lessons this summer.  He is going great and we are very proud of his progress.

This is his favorite thing, jumping in to his teacher. But this time he didn't listen to his teacher and jumped on the count of 1, instead of 3 like he was supposed to. We are working on our listening.

Swim Lessons

I have tried several times to get Christian in swim lessons.  Summer before last I tried two different classes and they never had enough students.   This year we went straight to the YMCA.  We think now is a great time to get him more comfortable with the water and have him learn some basic water safety.  Yesterday was his 1st class.

Dad took him to his 1st class. He did a good job of getting some pictures before the camera battery died.
I asked Christian about the class. He mentioned silly little fish and teeny tiny rings. I think I can see what he was talking about now.
