Kindergarten - Day 2

I just had to post and say how proud I am of our big little guy.  He was such a pro today on day 2 of kindergarten.  He was ready on time, even had to get a treatment this morning.  There was no fuss getting out the door.  I packed a small notebook in his backpack and a pen so he could draw or write while waiting in the cafeteria before classes start.

We all arrived at the school right on time (my pre-planned arrival time) and we found a good parking space (wooo whoo).  Archer and I walked Christian into school and made our way to the cafeteria, where his is supposed to wait until he can go to his classroom.  I chatted with the counselor about the normal morning routine and where the kindergartner's would sit.  He took a seat at a table and pulled out his notebook and pen (the cool pen that lights up).  He got busy writing his name down the paper like steps.  Archer and I got one last hug and kiss and were out of there.

The funniest thing to me about our "new normal" is how Archer is handling it.  He now wants to go to Mills and if he has to go to ALLCC he wants to be in his old class.  I think after a few years of walking through the Mills hallways Archer's transition will be even easier than Christian (if that is possible).

I know days won't always be like this.  There will be days we run late.  Days he doesn't want me to leave him.  Days that aren't so easy, but I'm very thankful the first two days were so great.

So here is my prayer... I pray he find school fun and enjoyable.  I pray he does well and learns so much.  I pray he has is blessed with insightful and amazing teachers who foster in him a desire to learn and excel.  I pray he makes wonderful life long friends (like his dad and I did) who support him and encourage him for the rest of his life.  We are lucky to have had this kind of experience with our preschool and I'm hopeful it continues in elementary school, middle school, high school, college, graduate school (ha! a mom can dream can't she) and on and on.  -In Jesus name, Amen

So Archer really needed a backpack too.

Our friends Cimarron and his parents Teri and Tommy.

Cim is nice, he is leaning over to make himself shorter.
A little card from Mom and Dad on the first day.

passing a little time while waiting to head to class.
Now he looks a little nervous.
 Walking to class.
One last hug and wave good bye.

Bouncy House Fun!

The day of the big bouncy house party finally arrived.  Archer woke up so early he passed out on the floor before 11am, his party was still 2 hours away.

Gran bought a fun present for Chris too.

The BIG slide was a BIG hit!

Now this is a happy boy.

Fox was a little scared but there I would say he LOVED IT!.

The big kids even got in on the fun.
There were lots of Christian buddies there too.  They are all starting kindergarten this week.

 Gran and Daniel

Cissy even became a ride.  It was called the Cissy spin.

 Yep those are my boys.

Mister Mason even joined the party
Sassy rode the big slide with Christian a few times.
Here is the whole crew.  Aren't they super cute.

Our one try at the family picture.

Jonathan didn't know if he wanted to do a cannonball in the foam pit or a jack knife.

Sassy and Jonathan raced down the slide.

I think it is safe to say the party was a BIG HIT.  Archer ran from us and cried when we told him it was time to leave.  We had such a great time with everyone.
