So I celebrated another birthday this year. I'm trying not to focus on the year...or the BIG year that is coming up.
This year we had a few celebrations. One celebration was dinner with some family and friends at Santa Rita.
Here is our crew (minus Corrie -Landon's mom, she was our picture taker)
Going clockwise around the table (starting at 12) Jonathan, Chris, Me, Archer, Christian, Landon, Grady, Corrie's seat, Cinda & Stacy (with Mason in belly).
We sat outside and the boys had some fun running around.
Jonathan always has to watch his back around this group.
Here is Sassy and little Mason.
She loved rubbing on my belly with the boys so I have to return the favor. He was hanging out on her left side that evening.
Awe, isn't she cute...she has that mommy to be glow.
Christian and I always had a celebration dinner with Gran, Pa and Aunt Madge the weekend before.
On Saturday night Chris and I went to dinner at Tratorria Lisina. It was our first time at it was great. A nice place for a special dinner and a great place for a fun dinner with lots of family and friends.

Birthday events
Christian asked for BATMAN cupcakes for his birthday celebration at school. Sassy stopped by to wish him a happy birthday while he and his school friends enjoyed their cupcakes. She also dropped off a present and so balloons.

Christian had a hard time making up his mind. He didn't end up going home with these Star Wars kits. He selected some ninja game guys.
Here he and Daddy are playing with his new ninja lego guys.

Dear Christian
Dear Christian,
As you turn 5 and become in your words a "big boy", I just wanted to write you a letter about the boy you are right now.
You love all things super hero. Batman, Spiderman, Iron, Superman, Justice League, Power Rangers. You seem to really like bad guys too. You like Joker, Penguin, Roughneck and Sportsmaster.
You have started talking with your hands, which I find very funny because I do that all the time. Grama Nita says if I sat on my hands I couldn't speak. You enjoy using silly words and not all of them I like. But that is normal. You can't wait to start soccer school and big boy school. Your best buddies are Rocky, Landon, Ethan, and Martin. Your little brother Archer loves to copy everything you do and say. He loves to take over your room and call it his, which you don't exactly like.
You are smart and you know it. You know how to count to 20, all your letters and numbers. You can spell and write your name. That is no small feet because you remind me all the time "Mommy my name is soooooo long". Sorry we didn't think about that more before we named you, but it will build your character and you are named after very special people.
You tell me all the time about how you were with God before he sent you to me and Daddy. You tell me about how you used to eat breakfast with God, I think you had donuts. You tell me you know I love you, just because I'm your Mommy and you are a big boy.
You have asthma and know when you need a breathing treatment. This is a big help to your teachers and Mommy and Daddy.
You like to have silly face, make funny noises and use silly words. This all makes for a very funny boy. You use the word actually a great deal. You enjoy asking questions and keep us on our toes with your conversations and inquiries.
You wake up early on weekends (around 6:00 or 6:30) but since you are such a big boy you come and ask to play in your room for a while...then you come and ask to play in the living room. We all soon join you, but we appreciate that you can play by yourself.
We love you big boy and can't wait to take you to the Lego Store tonight. Happy Birthday!!
Love,
Mommy

Birthday wrap up
I've been trying to blog about the big birthday party and other birthday related events, but we got busy and now the littlest man is sick. Just a yucky cough and cold, but needing lots more attention.
Christian's party was so much fun. We had a great turn out of family and friends. He loved opening all his presents and has played with all of them. He loved his Diego cake. He talked about his cake and presents over and over and over again.
On his actual birthday I took a big cookie to his classroom and he and his class had that for their afternoon snack. It was fun to share his birthday will all his friends at school.
His teacher brought him up on the special birthday step and everyone sang happy birthday to him. I have a little video of it and it turned out really cute.
We just can't believe we have a 3 year old little boy. He and his brother have filled our lives with so much fun and enjoyment. There is something about seeing the world through a child's eyes that is so sweet and enlightening. It softens you some and make you protective at the same time.

Happy Birthday and Memory Lane
Today we celebrated Chris/Daddy's birthday. It was nice for him to be off work on his birthday. Archer and I took him out to lunch. The whole family celebrated with cupcakes for dinner. Christian and I sang to him (see video clip) and Archer did what he does best so far, he slept. He is a pro at sleeping and there are no complaints from Mom or Dad on that one.
Tonight we also made a 1st attempt at a family picture. We don't have one picture of all of us so far. Let's just say I will post it just to say we did it, but I hope to get a better one taken soon.
The boys gave Dad a digital frame to take back to work with him for his birthday. I spent a good part of Monday morning filling a 2G memory card with 500 pictures. I can't believe I was able to put that many on there and I skipped A LOT of pictures. It would be interesting to see just how many pictures I have on my computer.
This bring me to memory lane. I came across so many fun pictures from my and Chris' relationship. From the first pictures I remember us taking, to Paris, to New York, to fire truck rides, to teacups, to our wedding, to the birth of Christian and now the birth of Archer. Here are just a few of the pictures I came across.

The time Chris has spent at home this 1st week of Archer's life was priceless to me. We all bonded as a family, shared firsts with our sons and worked as a great parental team. One reading bedtime stories while one comforted a newborn. So today being his birthday is a great time to say how much we love him and appreciate him. We will miss him when he goes back to work and will be super happy to see him when he come home at night.

My how times flies

Here is our little man......at 1 day, 1 year and now 2 years. He is getting to be such a big boy. His new favorite phrases are "Bye, bye, see ya in the mornin'", "chicken?" this is when he wants to eat some chicken nuggets, "Hi Mommy/Daddy! What's up?"He still enjoys dumptruck races and he really loves playing with his choo-choo train. He has great sound effects for it too.
