1) I spend to much time on Facebook and it takes time away from blogging.
2) I post little things on Facebook and then don't take the time to elaborate on the story or post pictures to my blog.
I always knew that when I would post it would be read by a pretty limited audience. Some friends, some family. One special lady in particular would remind me I hadn't posted in a long time and this post is in tribute to her.
That special lady went home to be with Our Lord and Savior December, 22.
Darlene Kortan-Mesecke
After a long battle with severe illnesses, the world's greatest mother joined our Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2013.
She was born in Cherokee, Texas in 1940. Darlene graduated from Lamar High School, class of 1958 in Rosenburg and from Nursing School in Hallettsville, Texas. She spent the majority of her nursing career working for two very special physicians, Dr.'s McCauley and Senter.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah and Cinda Kortan of Buda; her sister, Minnie Nichols of Buda. Proceeded in death by her mother Mary Nell Lucas; father Jake Lucas; brothers Bobby and Jerry Lucas.
Although she only had two daughters, she was a mother to many. She continuously touched others throughout her 73 years of life; providing not only wisdom but love and support to everyone. Earning her the titles of: Mother, Wife, Nanny, Sister, World's Greatest Aunt, and Best Friend.
I was lucky enough to be considered a second daughter to her. So it is bitter sweet to think that Nanny won't be on the other side of a computer at her house reading my blog any more :(
