Family Camping

We have jumped head first into Cub scouts.  Chris is a den leader.  I have volunteered with the Pack in various ways.  Christian is really enjoying scouts.  Archer tags along like a good little brother, but recently he had a special request.  He wanted a campout that was just our family "so parents couldn't tell him to get our of their tents."

His request was granted last weekend.  We went out on a beautiful weekend to a state park very close to us.  It is always nice to get the boys outside to play and get them away from their electronics.

Archer found a caterpillar from under the log Christian moved.

Our campsite was great.  We could barely see another campsite and the boys had tons of room to roam.
Chris is his "outdoorsmans" hat :)
 The lower falls.

This area saw lots of flooding at Halloween.

This is the old homestead of the family that donated the land that is now the state park.

We upped our camp site cooking by making rice and beans.
We also tried a cast iron pizza

Christian told us some spooky stories.
We made a cast iron cookie!  It was pretty tasty and only 1/2 burned.
Archer gave the camp out a thumbs up!  Success!!!
