I want to pay due respect to the 10 year anniversary of the attacks of 9/11/01, but this last week I have been a bundle of emotions. It feels like the whole state of Texas is on fire and our dear friends and neighbors in Bastrop are suffering so. The culmination of these two things have me feeling profoundly grateful and thankful for the safety of my family.
I don't think I will be able to spend tomorrow watching tributes and remember that day ten years ago. I remember exactly what I was doing, thinking and feeling that day. I will mourn and remember those that were lost in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon, but I don't think I can let myself get too wrapped up in the remembering, it just hurts to much...and right now in Texas, there are lots of people hurting for different reasons.
I want to see something that makes me smile...and the pictures below do that.
