Trip Home

Seems like forever since I've blogged but I'm determined to keep up with this and finish up my Disney posts.
We had a blast on our last night at Disney, almost shutting the park down at 1:30 am (yes, we are great parents).  The next morning we all packed up and headed back towards home.

It was supposed to be a nice break in Pensacola Beach, Florida with a day at the beach.  Well once we left Disney things went downhill.

On our way out of town we made a brief stop at Downtown Disney for one more meal on our Disney ticket.  They had a HUGE LEGO store so we had to stop and play a little.

First the hotel called me not once, but twice to make sure they had a credit card they could charge because the one I gave then wasn't running through (backstory, we cancelled a card and had a new one issued between or initial reservation and our arrival date).  Well this kind of irked me because I was thinking Geez, people we are going to be there in a few hours, can't you wait.
Then, it rained and rained and rained.  It rained so much that the road in front of the hotel was flooding and some people couldn't get in.  We got in later that evening after a long day of driving and finally rested.  Well it was still raining.
This is the boys playing on the beach on our first night.  It was dark and windy, but they enjoyed the sand.

The next day we spend a whole 30 mins on the beach before we headed back to the hotel pool because the waves and wind were just too much.

We spent about an hour at the outdoor pool before we (and everyone else it seems) moved inside to the very small indoor pool.  After a brief family pow-wow and checking with the front desk we packed up and headed out.  The Choates and Memaw and DoDaddy headed to New Orleans while we made our way to Baton Rouge.  Before we left we stopped at a restaurant called McGuire's...this was probably our best Pensacola experience.
Archer was tired from the beach so Chris held him while he slept for the whole meal.
McGuire's is famous for customers stapling dollars to the ceilings. So we joined in too.

Well I think that wraps up our Disney trip.  We made it home safe and sound and can't wait to go back (when Christian graduate high school :)
