I joked around a few weeks back with some friends that July 28th would be a great birthday. It would help me remember my family's birthdates...Mine is the 25th, Chris the 26th, Christian the 27th, Baby the 28th...pretty clever huh?!?
But no such luck having him that day....Then I moved onto 8/08/08. Now that would be a really cool birthday. The Olympics started on that day in Beijing because the Chinese find 8 to be a very lucky number.
In China, six, eight and nine are considered lucky numbers, since their homophones have auspicious meanings. Eight was originally deemed auspicious by the Cantonese, since in Cantonese, eight reads as 'Fa', which means to make a great fortune in the near future. Later, the auspiciousness of eight was taken up by all Chinese. Thus, numbers ending with these three digits are firm favourites.
Now it looking more and more like his birthday will be 8/18/2008. We are really hoping so!
On a silly side note for those out there who know I am an Elvis fan. Elvis funeral took place on 8/18/1977. I heard that on the news this week when some show was talking about Elvis Week and my first thought was that 8/18 was going to be this baby's birthday.
Lest everyone forgets what an Elvis fan I am...please remember Christian's halloween custome this year.
